snow day number three

so, we're still shut down here in atlanta! 6 inches of snow plus a generous layer of ice on top, our roads are still awful due to lack of equipment.

but i am not about to complain about three days of free vacation (although i might feel differently someday when i have kids to entertain). we have no problem entertaining ourselves and our dogs. and yesterday when i was getting our office organized i found season 1 of the sopranos that i borrowed from my brother 2 or 3 years ago, oops! but we finally found the time to watch it! and i've made some progress in my harry potter reading, duh.

hunter in the snow! williams ruined any positive feelings he ever had for the white stuff.

our house today covered with very crunchy snow

and a short video of p money, she thinks these have been the best three days of her life!

snow day 2k11!

woohoo, snow day in atlanta!! EIGHT INCHES in our area, that is a big deal! it might take a few days to clear the roads, they're a mess.

snow pup! this one LOVES the snow!

hunter? not so much. he was not cooperating in our photo shoot. i promise he is not pooping in this picture.

i'm making ricky try to get a good picture of hunter, we'll see how that goes!

and i may have had snow ice cream for breakfast. oops. it's supposed to sleet over the snow all day, so i had to while i had the chance!

anniversary recap

since we both had the flu on our actual anniversary, we had to postpone our fancy dinner plans.

and i mean fancy. ricky went all out! we went to the woodfire grill, whose executive chef just happens to be our favorite top chef contestent of all time, kevin!

and we got to talk to him, i was totally starstruck (shocker)! so awesome. when we sat down and opened the menu, it said "Happy anniversary Angie & Ricky". well, mine did. ricky's said "Happy Birthday Angus", hilarious!

and then we had the best meal of our lives. hushpuppies, scallop with herb salad, duck breast, and roasted pork loin. and oh yeah, a dessert with vanilla ice cream, bananas, salted carmel, and candied bacon. ridiculous. ricky is not a dessert guy, but even he couldn't resist. "bacon on ice cream, what is going ON?"

it was SO fun to eat like royalty for a night and just really enjoy each other's company. i married a really amazing man and am loving this stage of life. life moves so fast and changes so quickly. i have to take the time to be grateful for our home, our pups, our jobs, the amount of quality time we are able spend with each other, and the people in our lives!

today is the day

my sister and her husband are leaving for india today! they've been training for this trip for months and will be doing mission work in new delhi until april. that seems like a long time for those of us that love them most, but in the span of a lifetime it's just a little blip. but as my work crew, summer staff, and intern friends know, a month or two or three is far more than enough for God to do incredible things.

Look at the nations and watch—
and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told.

so here's to you, libs and ruff! we love you dearly and couldn't be more excited for your adventure! i will definitely miss the convenience of calling/texting you whenever i want, but the modern conveniences of skype, facebook, and blogworld make this a million times easier. and last time you moved to another country, i was in my first semester teaching and was planning a wedding across the country. so we got this.
