school's out for summer

(5/18) SO good to have two cars again! poor ricky had quite the commute!

(5/19) from my sweet in-laws when i found out i did not get the job

(5/20) disgusting picture, but i love beer brats! some things will never change!

(5/21) making progress in the garage

(5/22) spent some time laying out on my deck but it got HOT! i really hope our next neighborhood has a pool!

i did take pictures on 5/23 and 5/24...but they are of my students and i don't have the rights to publish them to the interwebs, sorry!

(5/25) so excited it's the last day of school!

(5/26) i LOVE raspberries! i can't decide if the best breakfast ever is a bowl of raspberries or a brownie. too close to call.

things have been busy around here, i'm looking forward to the slower pace of summer! i've still got graduation tonight and a few days of post planning left, but the kids are gone! i'm so grateful for the few months i got to spend with them, what a gift! but some of them were easier to say goodbye to than others ;). i have fallen in love with teaching again and i'm so excited for the next adventure...i'm not sure what it will be yet, but God's got something great in store, i know it!

puppy love

sunday just might be my favorite day of the week if i wasn't a teacher. friday wins by a nose. but i love going to church and seeing my small group and our friends, singing with john mccullough, and listening to bdubs southern drawl. then grabbing a bite to eat and heading home so ricky can watch nascar and i can read/nap/snuggle with the pups. so perfect. and i don't know why, but hunter and penny have been extra snuggly lately (my lap is currently being occupied by my laptop AND penny's head), no complaints here! this week's update:

 

(5/7) free new concrete! water would gather by our front door but that's no longer an issue, sweet!

(5/8) mother's day! ricky & his sweet mom and our newly extended driveway

(5/9) "mom, get that camera out of my face"

(5/10) movie night!

(5/11) chicken in white wine sauce

(5/12) just a couple days before we found out penny's packing on 10 extra lbs, oops!

(5/13) our friend bryan came over to tie flies with ricky & take him fishing in north georgia

(5/14) penny getting a little extra exercise after her vet appointment. i love her infatuation with sticks, so adorable.

(5/15) my small group! amazing group of girls.

now back to my reading/napping/snuggling. happy sunday!

quite a week

 (4/28) sad deflated chocolate bunny. still enjoyed biting the ears off first!

 (4/30) my peonies have been beautiful this year!

 (5/1) our nephew cody got confirmed at his church on sunday! he is such a wonderful kid, so glad we got to be there!

(5/2) chicken enchiladas for cinco de dos

 (5/3) not the best day of ricky's life. bad day at work and a bad driver at a gas station. caused the wreck and then fled the scene, leaving 5 pieces of ricky's truck with scratches/dents/holes.

 (5/4) running errands. the man loves his braves!

 (5/5) some of my mentor group i've spent the past year with, they are amazing!

(5/6) sometimes i let ricky use the camera. this is what happens.

we had some chilly nights this week, but this is one beautiful saturday! through a series of unfortunate events, we are the lucky recipients of some free concrete/labor so our driveway is getting widened and our entryway/stoop are getting redone, all for the cost of a few pizzas and beer, pretty awesome! and my momma is on my mind, wish i could be with her on mother's day. and pretty much any other day of the year. seriously, pam bram is the bees knees. but grateful we get to spend tomorrow with my sweet mother in law, i definitely lucked out in that department!
